Choose Your Pathway

Every Unify Academy certification is built on the same foundation: anatomy that makes sense, technique that holds up, and the ability to read the room and serve whoever walks through the door.

Matwork Certification

The foundation every great instructor builds on. 60+ exercises from Foundation to Advanced. 95 training hours. You'll graduate understanding not just what to teach — but why each exercise exists and how to adapt it for any body in front of you.

In-person | 95 hours | Written + practical exam

Full-Bundle Certification

Both certifications. Complete command. 345 training hours across mat and reformer — the most thorough dual-certification pathway in the city. If you're serious about building a real career, this is where you start.

WHY THIS ACADEMY EXISTS

We teach what works. Because we know what works.

Unify Pilates Calgary didn't earn a national client award by teaching theory. It earned it by delivering results — session after session, client after client, year after year. People who came in unable to get off the floor without pain. Athletes who'd been told to stop. Bodies that had been pushed past their limits and needed something smarter.

Unify Pilates Academy exists to pass that on. Not the textbook version. The real version — the method that loyal clients have trusted with their bodies, their recovery, and their lives.

When you train here, you're not learning from people who studied the method. You're learning from people who live it.

THE UNIFY PILATES® PHILOSOPHY

Repetition preserves. Understanding evolves.

We teach the method as a living practice. We honor what came before and refine it with what we now know about the body and the nervous system.

01 / Method: Teach the person, not the choreography. Our instructors learn to read the body in front of them and adapt the work to it, so every class meets the client where they are.

02 / Science: Regulate before you strengthen. Strength lasts when it's built on a nervous system that feels safe.

03 / Standards: Earn the credential. Every graduate is assessed teaching a full class to a real client, because the standard is how you teach, not only what you know.

04 / People: Build careers, not just certificates. Every graduate has a pathway to grow, mentor, and teach teachers.

05 / Community: Grow through partners. Host studios bring Academy training to their own communities.

You're not just earning a certification. You're earning the ability to change someone's life.

Think about the client who came in unable to get out of a chair without pain. The athlete who was told to stop. The person who had written off their body — until one instructor showed them another way.

That instructor could be you.

The Unify Academy certification trains you with the anatomy, the technique, and the teaching skill to be that person for the people who need it most. That's not an abstract promise. That's what our studio delivers every week — and what we're teaching you to do.

“I came in with years of Pilates experience and left understanding the method in a way I never had before. McKenzie’s knowledge of the lineage completely changed how I see every exercise.”

- Karen F., AB

The method was handed to us.
What it becomes is up to us.

1920s: Joseph Pilates opens his New York studio and teaches what he called Contrology.

Decades that followed: Generations of teachers carry the work forward and adapt it as they go.

2025: Unify Pilates Academy is founded to build what comes next: a method shaped by its lineage and developed with current movement science.

Honoring tradition means refining it.

Respect for the original work doesn't mean repeating every inherited cue. We carry it forward by teaching toward what the method was always meant to create: bodies that move well for a lifetime.

The future of Pilates is shaped by those who teach it.

TRAINING JOURNEY

Here is what your path looks like.

Every certification follows the same arc: deep technical grounding, hands-on practice, real client exposure, and a final evaluation that confirms you're ready — not just finished.

01 | Technique Training

You learn the repertoire from the inside out. Every exercise, every spring load, every transition — with anatomy woven in from day one.

02 | Anatomy and Principles

Not memorized for an exam. Applied to real movement, real clients, and real teaching situations from the beginning.

03 | Observation Hours

You watch experienced instructors work with real clients inside the studio. You start learning to read the room before you're ever responsible for it.

04 | Teaching Practice

You teach. With real people, in a real space, with mentors beside you. This is where everything becomes yours.

05 | Final Evaluation

A written exam (100 questions, 80% to pass) and a practical assessment. You certify when you're ready — not just when time is up.

Ready to become the instructor someone has been waiting for?

The first step is simple. Download the course guide and see exactly what your certification journey looks like — the hours, the structure, the outcomes, and what it takes to get there.

If you have questions before you're ready to commit, reach out. We'd rather have that conversation early.
